Wilder International are very pleased to announce a new project aiming to develop nutrition focused courses specifically designed to increase knowledge amongst ape caregivers and veterinarians working in rescue centers, sanctuaries and conservation organisations that may hold apes in their care.
A key factor in the success of sanctuary rehabilitation efforts is ensuring that rescued primates receive proper nutrition. Nutrition is fundamental to optimal animal welfare, as it directly affects health, recovery from malnutrition, and the ability to develop appropriate behaviours necessary for potential reintroduction to the wild or long-term human care.
By developing these courses to support sanctuary caregivers and veterinarians in developing appropriate nutrition for their charges we can improve the health and welfare of these rescued primates and maximise their chances of successful rehabilitation and potential release back to the wild.
The courses that will be freely available to rescue centers, sanctuaries and conservation organisations around the world, kindly supported by the QATO Foundation.
